Finding the current Account Preferences controls in cPanel

cpanel-whm, web-hosting

Current cPanel versions group several account settings in Account Preferences. Use this page to review contact, notification, privacy and language choices together when taking over an account or updating old internal instructions.

What you need before you begin

Sign in to the intended hosting account and distinguish panel preferences from us billing details. Keep an independent recovery email available. A mailbox hosted inside the same full or unavailable account may not receive an urgent service alert.

01 Find the current Account Preferences controls in cPanel

  1. Search cPanel for Account Preferences. Depending on the installed version and theme, some older standalone preference screens may redirect here.
  2. Review primary and secondary contact addresses and update them with the account password where requested. Keep service contacts accurate without assuming this also changes the client-area owner.
  3. Choose meaningful alerts for quota pressure, password or contact changes and certificate failures. Avoid disabling every notice merely because one message is noisy.
  4. Review the available consent or interface-analytics choice and save the preference you intend. The account setting and server-level availability jointly determine whether that feature operates.
  5. Check display language and notification placement. Save each relevant group, reload the interface and confirm the selected values remain.

Confirm the expected result

The panel should show the intended contact and preference values. Verify critical notices reach a monitored address and update team documentation with the current menu path.

Troubleshoot unexpected results

If a setting is missing, it can be controlled by the provider or installed version. Do not edit hidden cPanel configuration files to force a preference. A mailbox password still belongs under Email Accounts, while the cPanel password controls the panel identity.

Which account does this change?

Account Preferences affects the selected cPanel identity. It does not rename the registered domain, alter a WordPress administrator, or update every person listed in your Nabtech account. Review those systems separately when changing business ownership or staff responsibilities.
