Create and administer a reseller account with the correct commercial scope

domain-nexus, resellers

A reseller account authorises a WHMCS customer to use Domain Nexus's domain-resale workspace and permitted integrations. Keep this separate from ordinary DNS access granted by a hosting product or registered domain.

01 Prepare the account

  1. Confirm the correct WHMCS customer and their contact details.
  2. Open Domain Reseller > Resellers and create or configure the reseller relationship using the supported account workflow.
  3. Select the intended reseller group and review any account-specific overrides.
  4. Set the approved account status, funding arrangement, commercial limits and permitted services.
  5. Confirm the customer's portal opens the correct reseller account and shows its effective offer.

Do not select another customer's billing identity to work around a missing account. Domain and wallet ownership follow the reseller relationship and must be correct before orders are placed.

02 Set up API access

Use API Access for the supported email/API-key credential workflow or Advanced API clients for separately scoped HMAC applications. Issue credentials only to the intended integration and restrict them to the required functions and outgoing addresses.

Keys are shown only when issued or rotated. Arrange secure delivery through the approved account workflow. Do not place reusable keys in downloadable connector ZIPs or general knowledgebase examples.

03 Verify commercial readiness

Check the published TLDs, terms and prices in the reseller's Pricing page. Review the available purchase balance in the configured funding mode, including holds or unsettled orders. An account may have WHMCS credit and a separate ledger with different roles.

Test a read-only API request and a controlled domain workflow before allowing automated live orders. A successful login or authentication test does not prove that the account can register every TLD or use every registrar operation.

What should I review before suspending or changing a reseller account?

For an account restriction, record why it exists and how the reseller can resolve it. Review pending operations and the financial ledger before closure or ownership changes. Do not delete records to hide an unresolved provider transaction.

When an account changes company, operator or downstream platform, verify the authorised recipient, rotate affected credentials and review contact and billing information. If master-reseller access is required, grant it through the explicit master-permission workflow rather than assuming all resellers can manage downstream accounts.
