Our NabWP WordPress Manager brings available updates and update preferences into the Updates area for each website. You can review pending WordPress, plugin and theme updates and use the controls available to your service to apply them or configure automatic handling. The exact options depend on the features enabled for that installation.

01 Review the update policy for each component
Automatic update settings can distinguish between WordPress core updates and updates to plugins or themes. Available core choices may also distinguish smaller maintenance updates from major version changes. Review the settings actually shown for your website instead of assuming that every component follows the same policy. A recently installed plugin may need its own update preference checked.
Updates are useful for receiving fixes and maintaining compatibility, but a successful installation does not prove that every business function still works. A store extension, custom theme or external integration can react differently after a version change. Keep an appropriate backup and plan a practical check of the website after significant updates.
02 Check additional update and recovery tools
Where offered, restore points or Smart Update tools can add another layer to the update workflow. Smart Update availability depends on the enabled feature and licence; it should not be assumed to exist on every website. Automated checks also cannot replace testing the exact checkout, booking form or specialist integration your customers use.
If an update is followed by an error, note the component and approximate time of the change. Check the website activity and ask our WordPress AI Engineer to help inspect the relevant logs and current state. Avoid repeatedly retrying a failed update without understanding the result. Our team can help you decide whether to complete the update, apply a compatibility fix or use an available recovery option.
How do I verify that automatic updates follow my intended policy?
- Review core, plugin and theme preferences separately in Updates; they may not all follow the same automatic policy.
- Make a suitable recovery point before a significant update and test application compatibility where the risk warrants it.
- After completion, check the actual version and test the store, booking form or other critical integration.
A plugin requiring a renewed vendor licence may not receive updates through an expired entitlement. Do not repeatedly retry an update without inspecting its message. If an update is interrupted, record the component and time so the Engineer or support team can investigate the resulting state.
