Finding a held message in SpamExperts quarantine

email, security-ssl

Use the SpamExperts quarantine to find messages held by the filtering service before delivery. It is separate from the Spam folder inside OX, Zoho, Google or a hosting mailbox.

01 Find the held message

  1. Open the SpamExperts service from our client area and select the correct domain or mailbox scope.
  2. Open Spam Quarantine, or use incoming log search with the status restricted to quarantined messages.
  3. Set a date range around the expected arrival time and filter by recipient. Add the sender when known.
  4. Inspect the classification and available message details. Confirm the exact recipient and subject before selecting an action.
  5. Record the message identifier and reason if you need an administrator to review it.

02 Review safely

Do not open unexpected attachments or follow sign-in links while deciding whether a message is legitimate. Verify unusual requests through an established contact. An expected supplier's display name can be copied by an attacker.

Common questions

Why is nothing listed?

Check the domain, mailbox permission, date range and message state. It may have been delivered, rejected without a retained copy or handled by a different filtering route.

Does a quarantine listing mean the mailbox is broken?

No. It means the filtering service held that message. Review the classification and choose a specific corrective action if the hold was inappropriate.

Can I recover arbitrarily old held messages?

Only items still retained and available to your account can be reviewed or released. Do not assume quarantine is a permanent archive.

If mail is time-critical, ask the sender for the original recipient and time, then search with those details. Repeatedly resending the same suspicious attachment can create more held copies without fixing the cause.
